Mariel Bird DO

After earning her medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale, Ariz., Dr. Bird completed her internship at Nova Southeastern University in Florida and her dermatology residency at Michigan State University, where she also served as Chief Resident. Board certified in dermatology, she joined Thunderbird Internal Medicine in 2014.

In addition to the early detection and treatment of skin cancer, Dr. Bird specializes in medical conditions of the skin, hair and nails such as psoriasis, eczema, hair loss and rosacea.  She has a particular passion for cosmetic dermatology and creates a personalized plan for patients seeking the latest treatments for wrinkles, vascular lesions, dark spots, skin tightening and rejuvenation.

"Maintaining a lifetime of healthy and beautiful skin is a combination of developing preventive habits and addressing any issues that arise as early as possible. It is important to build trust with my patients, so I strive to make visits as comfortable as possible. I provide patients with the education needed for them to understand the issues and truly participate in their skin care. While diagnosing and treating their dermatologic conditions, I encourage prevention and daily healthy skin care."
